All of the fabric sold by Earth First Fabrics are GOTS certified organic.
This means that by law, they are not allowed to use 700+ chemicals in growing or processing. Conventional cotton is sprayed with toxic pesticides and contains colorants, bleach, retardants, biocides, and more harmful chemicals that can come into contact with your skin. Also, low-wage workers in the conventional textile industry can be exposed to toxic chemicals, which is unjust and unfair.
Organic certification helps ensure there are no harmful chemicals in clothing and household textiles.
Organic regulations and standards ensure transparency and promote products that are safer for people and the planet. These regulations were crafted by farmers, growers, manufacturers, retailers, and concerned citizens. My family knew we had to be part of this movement.
We are a small, family-owned business trying to do our part to mitigate the effects of climate change.
The impact of your choice – purchasing and promoting organic fiber – has a positive ripple effect on the economy, our community, and the planet. Buying organic means you can feel good about the product and the process behind it.
